The Zoo Crew Teacher Position is a great opportunity to work with other teens while talking to children, teens and adults. Zoo Crew Teachers will be able to practice public speaking and work as part of a team. This opportunity also allows teens to meet community service requirements for school or other organizations. There are also fun social opportunities to interact with teens who have similar interests.
Purpose:
Zoo Crew Teachers act as on-grounds environmental educators at the Zoo using a variety of props and their educational training.
- Interact with Zoo guests through conversations and activities.
- Encourage guests to participate in games, puzzles or activities that will teach them more about the Zoo.
- Set up the cart in the morning and break down the cart in the afternoon.
- Arrive at the Zoo in a timely manner and remain at cart at all times (unless on an approved break)
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for conservation issues and wildlife
- Willingness to develop public speaking skills
- Ability to engage children and adults Friendliness and reliability
- Must attend training on Sundays in May
TIME COMMITMENT:
Teens commit to ten (10) shifts over the course of the summer. Each shift is five (5) hours long. This makes for a total commitment of 50 hours during the summer.

This opportunity also allows teen to meet community service requirements for a school or other organizations. There are also fun social opportunities to interact with teens who have similar interests.
Purpose:
Zoo Crew CIT's support the camp counselors with all the excitement of Zoo Camp. CIT's help with activities as well as work with the campers in daily events.
- Help with greeting campers upon arrival, as well as assisting in their departure
- Contribute to the creation and organization of activities
- Help supervise the campers
- Assist counselors in all aspects of camp
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enthusiasm
- Responsible working with children
- Be able to attend a working interview during
- February or April camp Ability to work well with camp counselors and follow directions
TIME COMMITMENT:
CITs must be able to commit for at least five (5) weeks during Summer Camp, and attend either the Winter or Spring camp for training.
