For Kids & Families

Our family-based programs, classes and clubs offer a wonderful way for the whole family to explore and learn together!

Each year, more than 2,500 toddlers, preschoolers and their parents participate in our early childhood programming at the Zoo, discovering the joy of learning through hands-on exploration and multi-sensory experiences.

"Big kids" (elementary school aged children) have fun, develop an appreciation for the natural world and enrich their sense of environmental stewardship through our weekend Zoo Explorers program, Wild Art classes and clubs like Roots & Shoots and Bug Club.   And teens can take an active role in shaping their futures and their own communities with our teen Roots & Shoots club and Wild at Work Zoo Career Day.

During winter, spring and summer school vacations, ZooCamp provides wild week-long fun at the Zoo for kids ages 4 – 10 and adventurous excursions to local natural treasures for kids ages 11 - 17.

And there are even programs and trips where the grown-ups can get in on the fun too.  Our family programs include Sunset Safaris, Snore & Roar overnight adventures, daytrips and once in a lifetime travel opportunities to some of our Earth's most beautiful places.
