The Galapagos Islands offer a dramatic geological history and one of the world’s most remarkable collections of plant and animal life. Your journey will begin in Ecuador with an exploration of the Andes Mountains and a visit to the Equatorial Line Monument and Museum where you will cross from one hemisphere from another before embarking on a 5-day Galapagos cruise. During your voyage, local naturalists will provide insight into the wildlife and history during onboard lectures and guided nature walks through this unique chain of islands. Learn about the Galapagos sea birds, including the blue-footed booby and the Galapagos penguin, snorkel with white-tipped sharks and sea turtles, catch glimpses of marine iguanas, sea lions, giant tortoises, flamingos and more!

Sunset Safaris
Sunset is a magical time at the zoo – the air is quiet and the animals are awake and alert. Sunset Safaris – NEW this summer – provide families with an opportunity to experience the zoo in a light like no other with no crowds and an interpretive guide. All Sunset Safaris will include a themed tour at twilight, snack and story time. Register now – this program has a maximum of 30 participants!

Our Family Snore and Roars offer an exciting opportunity to experience the Zoo in a unique setting. Sign-up for just one or join us for both! Fee now includes dinner, a night hike, activities, program animal encounters and a light breakfast. Please note that there must be at least a 1:3 parent:child ratio.
Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 AM
Members: $100 per parent/child pair; $50 per additional participant.
Non-members: $110 per parent/child pair; $55 per additional participant.

Stayin’ Alive
Many animals in the food chain have developed amazing adaptations that keep them from becoming the next item on the menu. Some have clever camouflage, some have built in armor and others even sacrifice body parts. This overnight will dive into these defenses and more in a fun filled night at the Zoo.

We’ve all seen Animal Planet’s “Most Extreme Animals”, teaching us about the most extreme animals on our planet but have you seen the Most Extreme Animals in Roger Williams Park Zoo?
