The day will include:
8:30am Ticket booths will be open for advanced ticket purchase before Santa's arrival. This will allow for quick entrance into the Zoo to line up for the Parade after Santa arrives.
8:30am-9:15am Entertainment while guests are waiting in parking lot (Very Merry Dickens Carolers / Senior Choir / Sparky the Fire Dog roaming /
Mr. Potato Head roaming)
9:15am SANTA ARRIVES – Once out of the helicopter Santa will be picked up by one of Providence’s finest fire trucks and driven to the Zoo entrance
9:30am Guests will be ushered through the main gates and set up along the parade route down the Africa path – with entertainment by Christmas guitar group “The Jingle Bells”
9:45am PARADE BEGINS
Enjoy a festive parade through the Zoo, featuring The Very Merry Dickens Carolers, Sparky the Fire Dog, Mr. Potato Head, Miss RI, Miss Teen RI, The Holly Jolly Carolers, Santa (riding in a Monster Mini Golf cart!), Santa’s elves and Marines from Toys for Tots
10:10am Parade arrives at Jambo Junction African Fishing Village – Santa will say hello before heading up to the Breakfast with Santa event in the Education Center (advanced tickets are required for this event)
10:15am-12:15pm WILD Winter Wonderland activities (free with general Zoo admission – all taking place in the Jambo Junction African Fishing Village)
WILD WINTER WONDERLAND ACTIVITIES

- Get into the holiday spirit with a truly unique photo opportunity with the mistletoe fairy, toy solider and beautiful winter birch tree characters from Ten31 Productions
- Meet and Greet with Cinderella and Snow White from the Kaleidoscope Theater; Mr. Potato Head; and Sparky the Fire Dog
- Watch an incredibly cool ice carving demonstration as a professional carver from Art in Ice sculpts a special treat for one of the animals
- Appearance by David Jones from Lite Rock 105
- Learn all about “How to Have a Green Holiday” with fun activities and displays from our Zoo Crew
- Learn about what our animals would ask Santa to leave in their stockings at our “Enrichment Education Station”
- Help us construct a larger than life gingerbread house – You will be supplied with extra large (non-food) versions of your favorite gingerbread house decorating materials and you will be able to construct your dream house!
- Have an up-close animal encounter inside the Australasia Building at 10:30 and 12:45
- Warm up with a delicious cup of FREE hot cider – donated by Jaswell’s Farm Smithfield, RI
- Watch some of our animals get fun, festive “gifts” as part of our Animal Enrichment Program:
